Sam Ward

Sam Ward started playing and teaching drum set professionally at the age of 15 and has officially spent half of his life as a professional musician. As a sophomore in high school Sam picked up his first professional gig as well as his first students-the two children of his favorite English teacher. The word quickly spread around school and before long Sam was teaching several of the teachers’ kids. This quickly grew into a business and by the following summer. Sam had a weekly schedule of 25 students.

During this time, his private teaching business continued to grow in size. Sam graduated from Berklee Magna Cum Laude in 2013 to continue his career as a performer and educator.

In the fall of 2017, Sam moved to Los Angeles to further his career as a performer as well as an educator.

He also was hired as the drummer for the Justin Young Band, who had a residency at the Gambit in Henderson, the Hang Dynasty who had a residency at the Sand Dollar Downtown inside the Plaza Hotel & Casino, as well as gigs occasionally with local artists such as M3CCA, Rita Lim, RJ Reyes, Todd Simon, Cool Beats and more. He has recently started his own, Las Vegas based musician’s collective; Naughty Octopus Collective, which includes bands such as Cool Beats, Soul Beat, etc; and has been booking these bands at venues such as Maxan Jazz Club, Sand Dollar Lounge, Fat Cat & more. In addition to his busy performance schedule Sam is an in-demand drum instructor in Las Vegas.
