Danyel Alvarez

Danyel Alvarez is a multi-instrumentalist and educator whose musical journey began in middle school with the cello. During these formative years, Danyel performed extensively in string quartets and quintets and was selected for notable ensembles including the Young Artist’s Orchestra Las Vegas (YAO), performing at The Smith Center. This early classical foundation fostered strong musicianship, ensemble skills, and technique that continue to inform Danyel’s teaching today. In addition to cello, Danyel began expanding into guitar, bass, piano, percussion, and voice, developing a versatile instrumental background across both classical and contemporary settings.

In high school, Danyel distinguished himself through competitive and high-level performance opportunities. This earned him recognition in multiple Solo & Ensemble competitions, being a member of the top Orchestra/Band/Guitar ensembles, Best of Southern Nevada, and were selected for both the Nevada All-State Guitar Ensemble and the All-National Guitar Ensemble. As a member of the Green Valley High School Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Danyel performed at both Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center—an honor reflecting exceptional musical achievement. These experiences strengthened Danyel’s performance discipline, sight-reading, and collaborative skills while shaping a well-rounded approach to teaching students of all levels. Danyel has experience preparing students for auditions, ensemble performance, and foundational musicianship across guitar, bass, cello, piano, percussion, and vocal instruction.

Danyel is currently attending the College of Southern Nevada, pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a focus in Jazz Guitar Performance and a minor in Music Education. Outside of his collegiate studies, Danyel is an active performer in the Las Vegas music scene as the lead guitarist in an indie rock/alternative band and is an aspiring songwriter. His stylistic experience spans classical, jazz, Latin, rock, pop, indie, blues, R&B, and funk, allowing him to tailor instruction to each student’s interests and goals. Danyel’s educational philosophy centers on the belief that music is a vital and enriching part of every person’s life, and they are passionate about helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong connection to music.
