Carl Sheng, is a currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Music with a specialization in cello performance. His journey in the world of stringed instruments began over 8 years ago when he first picked up the cello and has been passionate about it ever since. He also has a strong background in piano, having started playing at the age of 5, which has enriched his musical understanding and versatility. As well as being a certified Suzuki teacher affiliated with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, he’s had the privilege of sharing his love for music with aspiring musicians, nurturing their talents and helping them grow.
As a Las Vegas native, his musical journey has led him through the esteemed Las Vegas Academy of the Art and Hyde Park middle school. Throughout his middle and high school years, he was fortunate to be a part of various prestigious ensembles, including All-State, Honor Orchestra, and the Las Vegas Young Artists Academy. Under the guidance of exceptional mentors like Andy Smith, Moonlight Tran, and David Kancsar, he continues to refine his skills and immerse himself in the world of cello performance. He aims to contribute to the rich tapestry of music both locally and beyond. Music has been his lifelong passion, and he’s excited to see where his incredible journey takes him next.
As a teacher Carl provides students with the guidance needed to succeed. He makes learning enjoyable while also giving students a firm grasp of the fundamentals.
