Hailing from China Aria Lei brings a lot of international performing experience to the art of teaching. Aria is a very accomplished musician and has won several prestigious competitions. She won first prize in the Seventh Asia International Art Competition in Classic Vocals, first prize in the Third Guangdong College Students Vocal Music Competition, the golden prize in the China “High C” Youth Vocal Music Competition at Guangdong Province and second prize in the Hong Kong International Vocal Competition. As an actress she took part in Verdi’s Aida, a grand opera, in the Guangzhou Opera House which was directed by Franco Zeffirelli. She has much experience singing in choirs and has worked with the Sicilian Choir from Italy in 2017.
Aria has graduated from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies as a Vocal Performance major in China. She studied piano with Nan Gan (who is an alumni of Juilliard), and she has studied vocals with Dr. Mei Zhong (who is a Professor of Voice work at Ball State University). After graduating from college, she worked as a music teacher in the public school in China for four years. Some of her piano students passed the China Conservatory of Music piano examination and acquired the certification of level 4 under her training. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas majoring in Music Education.
Aria has a sincere love for teaching. Her extensive performing experience is a major asset to her teaching. Aria relates very well to students of all ages. Aria loves to see the growth in the students that she mentors. Her desire is to see her students reach their maximum potential and enjoy learning music!
