Alala Longmire

Alala Longmire, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, has dedicated over nine years to the art of violin performance. Her musical journey commenced at the age of 11, as she embarked on the path of a self-taught violinist, immersing herself in the world of string music. While the violin remains her primary instrument, Alala has also engaged with the piano and viola for six years, demonstrating her versatility as a musician. She initiated her viola studies during her high school years, mastering the instrument and acquiring the ability to read alto clef. Her piano education began in the eighth grade and has progressed alongside her other musical engagements.

During her formative high school experience at the prestigious Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, Alala participated in the honor orchestra for two years, ultimately being selected for the All-State orchestra for one year. Her performance history includes prominent venues such as the renowned Smith Center and collaborations with distinguished artist Clint Holmes, adding depth to her musical repertoire. A notable highlight of her early career was her selection to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, underscoring her exceptional talent.

Alala’s commitment to her musical development led her to join the Young Artist Orchestra (YAO), a respected youth orchestra recognized for its accolades within the state. Since her junior year of high school, she has had the privilege of studying under the esteemed Dr. Soo Yeon Kim, refining her skills and deepening her musical understanding. Currently, Alala is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, where she receives instruction in violin from the acclaimed Professor Wei Wei Le and in piano from the accomplished Valeria Ore.

In addition to her personal achievements, Alala is deeply committed to mentoring and coaching aspiring musicians, exhibiting strong leadership qualities. She is a firm believer in the potential of each of her students, dedicating herself to fostering their growth and nurturing their individual musical journeys with unwavering support and encouragement.
