Reese Thomas Rodriguez is a pianist, vocalist, accompanist, percussionist, and music educator currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Vocal/Piano concentration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He studies piano under Dr. Timothy Hoft and has developed a strong foundation in piano performance, music pedagogy, accompanying, music history, conducting, and instrumental techniques.
Reese has performed and studied works by composers including J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Frédéric Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Robert Schumann while continuing to expand his knowledge of both classical and contemporary music. In addition to his classical training, he has experience with popular music, film music, improvisation, learning by ear, music production, drum set, and percussion.
As a musician, Reese has experience performing solo piano literature, accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists, collaborating with musicians in a variety of settings, and performing on drum set and percussion instruments. His experience across multiple instruments and musical styles allows him to help students build strong musicianship, creativity, and confidence.
In addition to his work as a pianist and vocalist, Reese has experience teaching and mentoring drum students. He enjoys helping students develop rhythm, coordination, technique, music reading skills, and overall musical confidence through engaging and practical instruction tailored to each student’s goals.
Known for his strong musical memory, excellent listening skills, and perfect pitch, Reese enjoys helping students understand music in a way that is both practical and enjoyable. He teaches piano, voice, drum set, music reading, ear training, technique, improvisation, and foundational musicianship skills.
Reese’s teaching philosophy centers on building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music. He believes every student learns differently and strives to create a positive learning environment that meets students where they are. Whether a student is interested in classical piano, popular music, voice, drum set, music reading, ear training, technique, or simply learning their favorite songs, Reese is committed to helping each student develop strong musical skills while making music a fun and rewarding experience.
