Josh Meyer
Josh Meyer is a multi-instrumentalist, instructor, and band member born and raised in Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz and Commercial Music from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (UNLV). He has experience performing on the Las Vegas strip and downtown Las Vegas as a session guitarist, and has played many local venues as a part of a local indie band. He comfortably teaches many genres including jazz, rock, pop, mariachi, and other contemporary styles.
Introduced to formal study at 13 years old, performing mariachi and classical guitar in early grade school, Josh moved towards songwriting and jazz going into university. Previously tutored by guitarist Nicholas Veinoglou and Jake Langley, he has written and performed for multiple ensembles and capstone recitals. As a composition major at UNLV he was formally trained to write, perform, and teach guitar, electric bass, and piano.
Throughout his experience as a student, Josh has developed a teaching style that caters to students of all ages and skill, with great emphasis on engaging with what inspires them to play. For private lessons he prioritizes technical, theoretical, and creative development acknowledging each student’s specific needs when developing personal music lessons.
