Georgie Reina-Sage was introduced to the piano and voice at age 3. Taught for 14 years by Dr. Kathleen Kail, the President of the Music Teacher’s Association Guild for the Western Region. Georgie developed proper technique for playing piano and singing, gained an understanding of music theory, developed reading skills, learned the art of composition, and gained teaching skills. During that time, she participated in numerous recitals and competitions. It was Dr. Kail’s passion that inspired Georgie to set her sites on teaching. Dr. Kail’s passion awakened Georgie’s curiosity, interest, and desire to perform and compose music. Georgie began teaching piano at 15 and voice at 18.
From junior high through college, Georgie was a soprano voice in several vocal groups such as; the Los Angeles County All City Choir, the Pasadena Corral, Young Americans, Disney, & several madrigal & a cappella groups. Georgie also performed in Broadway musicals with the Hollywood Theatre of Arts, the Rainbow Company, the Nevada Civic Lite Opera Theatre, UNLV Performing Arts, and more. She performed in shows such as; Bye-Bye Birdie, South Pacific, King and I, Guys and Dolls, Camelot (starring Robert Goulet), and many others. Â
Georgie continued her education at UCLA in Early Childhood Education and Special Education teaching children born with mental disabilities and genetic disorders, such as down syndrome. After graduatuating from UCLA, Georgie relocated to Las Vegas, NV, where she owned and operated the only privately owned preschool licensed to enroll infants and children with disabilities under the age of 5. Georgie taught piano and voice to these students. Later, she secured a position teaching Piano, in residence at UNLV, under the direction of Bill Loman. She went to San Francisco to attend Holy Names College to study and become certified in the Suzuki method, under the direction of Dr. Myrna Thomas. Dr. Thomas studied directly under Dr. Suzuki in Japan.Â
Aside from teaching private piano, and voice, Georgie also entered the tour industry, becoming the owner and operator of Las Vegas Tour Co. She married a cowboy, Jim Sage. Together they built Cowboy Trail Rides.Â
